It is sad to get the news of Mark's passing.  The "In Memory" section of this site keeps getting bigger...sad to hear of old friends no longer here, even sadder that I have not kept in touch with people better.  RIP Mark.

I've known Mark since our senior year in high school , but it was after high school that we became close friends embarking on many adventures and having the kind of fun good friends have, and some stunts that became small legends on their own. I can never erase from my mind a time a few of us went to Nuevo Laredo (when it was still relatively safe to do so) and his walking back to our car on the American side with a huge coffee table on his back for a friend that wanted to buy one for her mother....

I was around when he meet the love of his life, Diane Chihal, whom he subsequently married, and I was really glad he found someone just so very right for him. I liked Diane from the beginning, and she tolerated me quite well, too!

Mark retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad and was living the happy life of a grandfather with Diane.

He was one of those friends that even though it may have been some time since the last time you had seen each other, the years just all fell away when you met up again, he was just such a GOOD person. He always had such genuine concern for you and how you were doing, not many people that I have met throughout the decades since high school were as genuine as he was.

Mark will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.

Rest in peace my old friend, you've earned it.

The years we spent together in school where short, but the memory of your friendship will live forever.  Be at piece.
