I have nothing but positive memories of my old friend Rick Dermody. We became close friends when he moved to San Antonio at the start of our senior year. He was my number one running buddy from then through 3 years together at SAC and was my first room mate when we moved to Austin together in the fall of '73. He moved back to San Antonio the next year but we stayed in touch for years afterward. Seeing him again was always one of the highlights of class reunions for me. I was him last at our 40th reunion. He had been battling skin cancer but was given a clean bill of health after treatment. We stayed in touch off and on he next year or so. I was hit hard by the news I got at the end of last year that he was in hospice because the cancer had returned. He was a genuinely good human being and the world is a lesser place with him gone. He is missed by many who knew him. RIP Brian Duffy
